Walkout for Palestine Zine-making Event

Collective Writing & Chalking

Inspired by the Cao Collective’s Collective Poetry Workshops, we invited everyone who walked out and join the gathering to pick up a pen and a paper to write about what “resistance” at UC Irvine means to them.

The process was simple: each person has 2 minutes to write whatever comes to mind, when the time is up they pass the paper to the next person, and start writing on a new paper for another 2 minutes in response to what the previous person wrote. We had 6 rounds in total.

Please see below some loving, beautiful, and empowering images of our collective writings. In struggle together, from Palestine to Mexico, from the Philippines to the undocumented communities at the UC, we will continue to nurture our collective steadfastness, care, and sacred hope in and beyond this imperial university. ❤️
